It’s the little touches that make each album really personal to each couple-like the phrase “love. honor. comfort. keep.” that was lifted from Lisa and Tim’s ceremony programs, font type and all, and used on the back cover of their wedding album. I love these tiny details! Between family portrait sessions this fall, I completed a couple wedding album layouts with one of my favorite album vendors. I’ve been working with Asuka Book to produce wedding albums since 2006. They consistently add new products to their portfolio that my clients will love and new services that will make my life easier. I’m a busy girl, so whenever you can same me time, you just made yourself a loyal friend. But moreover the craftmanship of their albums is just beautiful, I was so excited for Lauren and Adam to receive their storybook wedding album! The presentation box even includes a DVD placeholder for their wedding slideshow. Perfect. Click here to view the couple’s completed wedding slideshow.Read More →

What was predicted for a week to be a rainy day, turned out to be beautiful. Perhaps a bit steamy, the first truely humid day of the summer, but blue skies. I met Lauren and Adam through the alumni network at Carroll College and shot their engagement photos in Chicago last summer. They were married at The Club at Strawberry Creek in Kenosha, Wisconsin in June. I think my favorite part of photographing their wedding was the time we spent driving around the golf course shooting portraits of the couple. It was really the first time they had to be together and seperated from theRead More →

Engagement Session: Lisa & Tim

My primary goal with every engagement shoot is to get to know my couple better and for all of us to have fun making pictures. Getting to know each couple helps me tailor my photography approach to their personalities, but this time also helps them get comfortable in front of a camera. And in every sense of the word, my session with Lisa and Tim was a success. I got the best compliment from Tim when we said good night–he thanked me for making the shoot fun for someone who finds being photographed awkward. I couldn’t ask for more than that! Lisa and Tim will get married in MilwaukeeRead More →

Andy & Kala – In a word, happy

Each wedding is special, as I get to know each couple leading up to and through that day. But extra special are the moments I get to share and record with friends. The groom is a friend since day one, class one of college. His wedding to Kala was so familiar and organic, and as a couple the are the same way together. It was a beautiful day, a picturesque, comfortable farm setting, full of family and friends. Andy’s vows to Kala are what inspired choosing the soundtrack for their video. He talked about how everyone always told him that someday he would make some womanRead More →

Holly & Adam – Kicking off the Regional Season

The first wedding post of the season, and a heavy season for regional celebrations this year. Heading through Wisconsin, Michigan and Northwest Illinois, an interesting twist is half of this year’s season being shot outside of the Chicago-land area. Holly and Adam kicked it off in Appleton, Wisconsin in May. Not only were they a beautiful couple, but they had an extraordinarily fun wedding party.  Shooting with this bunch was like hanging out with your own friends, and that level of comfort produced some nice moments for our couple to remember and share from their big day.Read More →

This month I had the privilege of working with an art major alum from my Alma mater, and old friend. Frank Juarez is an art teacher and the department chair at Sheboygan North High School in Wisconsin. An active painter and art community organizer, his work is accepted to numerous exhibitions every year. A former Milwaukee-gallery owner, Frank is the executive director and president of the Sheboygan Visual Artists (SVA), an organization he founded to nurture and empower the artists community in Sheboygan.  Having held board positions with the Milwaukee Area Teachers of Art (MATA) and the Wisconsin Art Education Association (WAEA), he was recently nominated for president of the WAEA. With all that he is doing, updated headRead More →
